Electrochemical degradation of imazalil and pyrimethanil by anodic oxidation on boron-doped diamond

چکیده
The electrochemical oxidation of mixture pesticides imazilil and pyrimethanil pesticides has been studied on borondoped diamond (BDD) electrodes on acid medium by bulk electrolysis. The influences of current density, conductive electrolyte, pH, and concentration of pesticide were investigated. GC and chemical oxygen demand measurements were conducted to study the reaction kinetics of pesticides mineralization. The best obtained conditions for COD removal on the BDD anode to degrade imazalil and pyrimethanil solutions include operating at 50 mA cm and 25 ± 3 °C. The experimental results showed that the electrochemical process was suitable for almost completely removing COD, due to the production of hydroxyl radicals on the diamond surface (OH) and other electrogenerated oxidants (Cl, ClO).

Anodic oxidation of Methidation at boron-doped diamond electrode and degradation mechanism
This paper presents the study of the electrochemical oxidation of the insecticide Methidathion organophosphorous pesticide, using a boron-doped diamond (BDD) anode. The influence of current density, sodium chloride concentration, temperature and initial Methidathion concentration on the rate of COD abatement has been followed. The electrolyses were performed by using a solution composed of an e...

For electrochemical oxidation to become applicable in water treatment outside of laboratories, a number of challenges must be elucidated. One is the formation and fate of degradation intermediates of targeted organics. In this study the degradation of the pesticide residue 2,6-dichlorobenzamide, an important groundwater pollutant, was investigated in a chloride rich solution with the purpose of...
متن کاملElectrochemical removal of the insecticide imidacloprid from water on a boron-doped diamond and Ta/PbO2 anodes using anodic oxidation process
−The removal of pesticides from water is a major environmental concern. This study investigates the electrochemical removal of the insecticide imidacloprid (IMD) from aqueous solutions on a boron-doped diamond (BDD) and Ta/PbO2 anodes under galvanostatic electrolysis. The influence of operating parameters, such as applied current density (50-100 mA cm), initial chemical oxygen demand COD (0) (2...
متن کاملBoron-doped diamond anodic treatment of olive mill wastewaters: statistical analysis, kinetic modeling and biodegradability.
The electrochemical treatment of olive mill wastewaters (OMW) over boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes was investigated. A factorial design methodology was implemented to evaluate the statistically important operating parameters, amongst initial COD load (1000-5000 mg/L), treatment time (1-4h), current intensity (10-20A), initial pH (4-6) and the use of 500 mg/L H(2)O(2) as an additional oxida...
متن کاملEffect of nitro substituent on electrochemical oxidation of phenols at boron-doped diamond anodes.
In order to investigate nitro-substitutent's effect on degradation of phenols at boron-doped diamond (BDD) anodes, cyclic voltammetries of three nitrophenol isomers: 2-nitrophenol (2NP), 3-nitrophenol (3NP) and 4-nitrophenol (4NP) were studied, and their bulk electrolysis results were compared with phenol's (Ph) under alkaline condition. The voltammetric study showed nitrophenols could be attac...
